This is the website of the yacht Space Race and it’s offshore racing campaign of 2009, culminating in the Fastnet Race.

Seven of Space Race’s nine regular crew are veterans of the 2007 Fastnet Race. However, along with 80% of the contestants that year, they failed to complete the race, mainly due to bad weather. So for the majority there is some unfinished business to be attended to.

There is a smattering of offshore racing among us but we are certainly not an experienced yacht racing team.

Space Race is a Beneteau First 40.7 under skippered charter from frontlinesailing.co.uk. The skippers are Richard Hammons and Philip Sugarman.
